ABOUT THE PIRATES
The Tarpon Springs Pirates are a not-for-profit adult amateur football team based out of the Tampa Bay area.
The Pirates were founded by Andy Villamarzo in 2009, but are now owned/operated by new team president Darrius Small. Small is a longtime member of the team, playing for the Pirates since 2017.
The team, formerly known as the Anclote Pirates, Bay Area Pirates and Dunedin Pirates was a member of the National Independent Football League (NIFL) in 2010 then the United Football Federation of America (UFFOA) between 2011 and 2014. The Pirates became a member of the Florida Football Alliance (FFA) in 2017. Currently, the Pirates are entering their second season in the Elite American Football League (EAFL).
